The Centre for Lebanese Studies (CLS) is an independent academic institution established in 1984 to undertake impartial and balanced research in the Social Sciences focused on education, refugee rights, social movements, and disability advocacy. CLS is affiliated with the History Department at the University of Cambridge and the Lebanese American University. CLS has a presence in Beirut, Cambridge, and Amman, and while it undertakes research in various countries around the world, it focuses on Lebanon, Jordan and the UK . Through our work, we seek knowledge production and insight in partnership with other researchers and organisations.
